    How does Gimme Quotes work?

    Answer:

    Gimme Quotes matches people seeking quotes with businesses providing services.

    How it works:

    1. Anyone can create a Gimme Quotes project (a service they need).
    2. If a project matches services that a business provides, that business is notified.
    3. The business can then choose whether to quote on the project.
    4. The project creator can select a business to carry out the service at any time.

    What's a quote?

    Answer:

    A quote is a price estimate to carry out a certain service. It’s generally issued by a business to a potential customer. A quote also may include a description of a service that will be delivered.

    It’s common for those needing a service to seek a few quotes before choosing one professional to provide the service.

  3. Question:

    What's a project?

    Answer:

    A project can be any service needed - a loan, a bathroom renovation, a new swimming pool, etc. Post a project describing what you need and matching businesses will contact you with quotes. Each project can receive up to three quotes and you can select a business from the quotes received to carry out the work.

  4. Question:

    Where can I leave suggestions?

    Answer:

    We have a “Site feedback” page, which can be used for any kind of feedback – things you like about the site, testimonials (we like these), things you don’t like, and things you’d like to see. The “Site feedback” link can be found at the bottom of the home page.

    I forgot my password, how do I re-set it?

    Answer:

    On the Gimme Quotes login screen, click “Forgot your password?” and follow the on-screen instructions.

Business FAQs

  1. Question:

    How does Gimme Quotes work for businesses?

    Answer:

    Everyone can view projects on Gimme Quotes, but only businesses can quote on them.

    How it works for businesses:

    1. Sign up & tell us which services you provide
    2. Use email alerts to get notified of customer matches
    3. Select projects you would like to quote on
    4. Either "pay for success" or "pay per lead" - it's your choice!

    Once a business opts to quote on a project, it can use the customer’s contact details to submit a quote directly. The customer can choose a business to carry out their project at any time.

  2. Question:

    What are the costs for businesses?

    Answer:

    There is no cost to sign up to Gimme Quotes and it's free to be alerted of jobs in your area. You can either:

    • "pay per lead" - a small amount for each project you choose to quote on

    OR

    • "pay for success" - a referral fee based on the invoice amount - but only when you win work

  3. Question:

    How do I register my business?

    Answer:

    To register your business and begin finding new customers, click “Add Your Business” on the home page. Fill out the required fields for your business details and click “Signup. You’ll then be emailed an activation link. Click on the activation link in this email to be returned to Gimme Quotes. Login using your chosen username and auto-generated password (you can find this in the email). You’ll then be encouraged to tell us about the service your business provides and your service locations, which lets us match you to new customers.

  4. Question:

    Can my business details be seen by anybody?

    Answer:

    Businesses will receive a basic business listing featuring the company name and service provided. You can also log into the GimmeQuotes dashboard and add your business logo, photos, phone numbers and a link to your website. These are all displayed on your profile page free of charge.

  5. Question:

    Do I need to create a business account to quote projects?

    Answer:

    Yes. In order to quote projects you must sign up as a business and let us know your business services & service locations.

  6. Question:

    Why should I enter my business services and service locations?

    Answer:

    When you login for the first time you’ll be asked to let us know about the service your business provides and the locations you service. This allows us to match customers to your business and notify you about new customer projects that may be of interest. Without doing this we won't know which projects to alert you of.

  7. Question:

    How do I quote a project?

    Answer:

    On the project that you wish to quote, select “Quote this project”. Select either “Add to basket” to choose more projects to quote on or “Checkout” to process payment. Once payment is processed you’ll be able to submit your quote to the customer. The customer will choose the most appropriate quote and if yours is successful you’ll be able to organise carrying out the work.

  8. Question:

    Are all my quotes seen by everyone?

    Answer:

    Quoting is currently not done via the Gimme Quotes system. Once choose to buy a lead and quote on a project, you can use the customer’s contact details to submit a quote directly. The project will register that a quote opportunity has been taken.

  9. Question:

    Are quotes binding?

    Answer:

    Quotes are not legally binding; they are a declaration of interest in undertaking a particular project. Similarly, a potential customer is not obligated to select a quoting business to carry out the service required.

  10. Question:

    If the requested number of quotes has been reached, can I still quote the project?

    Answer:

    If the number of quotes requested by the customer on a project has been reached, the project will automatically close. In the unlikely event that another business purchases the last quoting opportunity on a project you’ve added to your basket, you’ll be notified that the project is no longer available.

  11. Question:

    Can I be notified when customer jobs I'm interested in are posted?

    Answer:

    Yes. This is what the alert function is for. There are two ways you can set up an alert:

    1. Go to “Alert settings” and select “Add an alert”. Complete the steps to set up the type of customers you wish to search for and your chosen notification methods (email/SMS); OR:
    2. Go to “New Customer Matches” and select “Start a new search”. Complete the steps to set up the type of customers you wish to search for and then select “Save as alert” and choose your preferred notification methods (email/SMS).

    Once an alert is created it can be edited at any time in “Alert settings”.

  12. Question:

    How do alerts work?

    Answer:

    Alerts are notifications that tell you when a new customer project matching your business services has been posted. You will receive an alert when:

    • A new project posted on Gimme Quotes is located within your service areas; and
    • That new project matches your business services.

    Alerts can be received by email, SMS or both. You can choose which alerts you receive and how in “Alert settings”.

  13. Question:

    Can I pause my alerts for a while?

    Answer:

    Yes. Go to “Alert Settings”, you will see all alerts for your account. Simply select “Pause” next to the alert you want to stop receiving email/SMS for. If you want to pause all of your alerts for a while (for example, if you’re going on holiday), then select “Pause all alerts”.

  14. Question:

    Can I add credit to my account instead of paying to quote each project separately?

    Answer:

    Yes - you can pre-pay your GimmeQuote account. Do this under 'Finances' in the dasboard when you are logged in.

  15. Question:

    What is the refund policy?

    Answer:

    If you choose the 'pay per lead' option, we cannot process refunds if your quote is unsuccessful (purchasing the right to quote on a project is not guarantee of winning a project). However, if you purchase a lead for a project that is fraudulent you may be eligible for a refund. Get in contact with us at Gimme Quotes and we'll work it out for you. If you are on the 'pay for success' payment option then you only pay when you win a project - so you don't need to worry about a refund policy!

    How do I change my password?

    Answer:

    To change your password, go to "Business Details” when signed in and click on the “Change password” link. Once you’ve confirmed your current password you'll be able to submit a new one.

    How do I close my account?

    Answer:

    You can pause all account activity at any time. Go to “Business details”, select “Pause Account” and follow the instructions. If you change your mind and wish to unpause your account again simply login, go to “Business details” and select “Unpause Account”.

    What does it cost to post a project?

    Answer:

    Posting a project on Gimme Quotes is totally free.

  2. Question:

    How do I create a project?

    Answer:

    You don’t need a Gimme Quotes account to create a project, however an account will be created for you during the project creation process.

    To create a new project, you can either type in the service you need on the home page and follow the steps, or you can browse for the service you need.

    Once you’ve submitted your project you only need to click on the activation link in the email sent to you in order to manage your project and account details.

  3. Question:

    How do I edit a project?

    Answer:

    Once you’ve posted a project, you can edit certain aspects at a later date, namely the project’s description, the date that the service is required and the project budget.

    To edit a project, click the “My Projects” tab when signed in and then click on the title of the project that you wish to edit.

  4. Question:

    Can I add attachments to my project?

    Answer:

    Yes. You can add supporting material (images, floor plans, etc) when posting a project.

  5. Question:

    How do I close a project?

    Answer:

    Go to “My projects” and click on the title of the project that you wish to close. Select “Close project” and then confirm your choice. If you can, please provide a reason for closing the project from the list (you can also add comments, if applicable).

  6. Question:

    How do I activate my account?

    Answer:

    Once you’ve created an account, you’ll be sent an email with an activation link. Click on this link to activate your account.

    You can create a Gimme Quotes account in two ways: either click “Sign up” and fill out your details or create your first project (which creates your account in the process).

    How to activate your account:

    1. After signing up or creating your first project, you’ll receive an email with a confirmation link & an auto-generated password
    2. Click the link to revisit GimmeQuotes.com. You’ll see that your account has been activated.
    3. Login with your email address & password to manage your projects & account details.

    Please note:  Your username is publicly displayed so be certain to choose something you don’t mind everyone seeing. We also recommend changing your auto-generated password to something more memorable.

  7. Question:

    Can I hide my profile?

    Answer:

    Only your username & the date you joined Gimme Quotes can be seen by all site visitors. We won’t publish any of your personal details. Be sure to choose a username that you don’t mind being displayed publicly.

    Where can I get licensing information to check a business' credentials?

    Answer:

    You can find more information on business licenses at www.business.gov.au, the official Government site on licensing requirements.

  9. Question:

    Where can I post website feedback/testimonials?

    Answer:

    We like testimonials. Click on “Site feedback” at the bottom of the page and tell us your thoughts on the form. Alternatively, you can email happy@gimmequotes.com (please use the subject “Testimonial”).

    How do I change my password?

    Answer:

    To change your password, go to "Account Details” when signed in and click on the “Change password” link. Once you’ve confirmed your current password you'll be able to submit a new one.

    You can deactivate your Gimme Quotes account at any time. Go to “Account details”, select “Deactivate Account” and follow the instructions.

    In order to reactivate your account you will need to select “Activate your account” on the Login page. You will be emailed a new activation link and steps for reactivating your Gimme Quotes account.
